LED Light Bulbs Win Annual Lighting

The annual Lighting for Tomorrow contest organized by the U.S. Department of Energy announced its winner this year, and the winner is LED lighting.

Energy-efficient light bulbs proliferate quickly, and LEDs, in particular, are a great choice to win the Lighting for Tomorrow contest. They have many benefits, both financial and environmental.

There are now LED Lights that can last up to 50,000 hours. With lifespans like this, not only do they directly save money on energy, but they also save money on the reduced frequency of maintenance and replacements.

Maintenance is generally completely non-existent, as they are fully self-contained and designed to be maintenance-free. The financial benefits make it an obvious choice, but they are still too expensive for the general population in the first place.

Large companies and organizations are the most common adopters of LED Light technology, as their large capital stocks allow them to carry out major renovations without blinking.

Pittsburgh International Airport, for example, purchases more than 1,300 LED bulbs and light fixtures from Appalachian Lighting Systems. The airport expects this investment to save more than $158,000 per year in energy.

Research and development in LED light Pakistan technology continue to result in improvements and breakthroughs.

The Oak Ridge National Laboratory recently created a low-cost graphite foam that functions as a cooling agent that is expected to extend the life of this energy-efficient technology. With lifespans of 50,000 hours already, improvements in longevity will certainly lead to outrageous lifespans.

New, more powerful LED light manufacturers continue to come out as well. A Finnish company recently announced its new aviation beacon LEDs, which are 20,000 times more powerful than standard LED bulbs. The technology won't stop and LED lighting benefits a lot.
